Many students and staff may have noticed that some of the vending machine options at Big Sky have changed recently.
The changes are linked to being compliant with the USDA’s Smart Snacks in School initiative, and require certain foods to be offered to K-12 students across the country during the school day.
Sun Journal reporter Lazarus Loonsfoot sat down with Jennifer Keintz, who oversees most of the vending machines at Big Sky, to talk about these healthy food requirements and how she feels about them.
