Kanzi, a bonobo ape famous for his language acquisition and communication skills, uses a lexigram keyboard at the ape sanctuary he lived in, Des Moines, Iowa. According to an Iowa News Now article, Kanzi was "recognized as the most intelligent non-human animal studied to date." He died earlier this year.
