There are two types of people in this world: The ones that sit back watching the days go by and the ones who live life to the fullest, accomplishing their goals and dreams along the way. Kaylee Rosenthal is one of these people. The 17-year-old girl is not only Big Sky Softball’s starting pitcher, but also is an all-around amazing person.

Kaylee started her softball career at age three and has continued playing it ever since. She has played for the Lady Osprey for five years, then just recently switched to the Avalanche for her senior season.

Softball has impacted her in many ways “Softball has made me mentally and physically tough and taught me to push through the harder times,” Kaylee stated.

Not only is the starting pitcher a star on the field, she’s also a star in the classroom. She balances softball and school very well while being in the vigorous IB Honors Program on top of it all. “Missing a lot of school to go to softball games over the weekend was hard and required a lot of effort to keep up with my work,” she stated. Even will all the traveling Kaylee still has managed over a 4.0 GPA.

Travel softball is very time consuming with the very much needed support from your parents. “My parents have always been supportive of my softball career, always getting me where I need to be and understanding my hectic schedule,” Kaylee stated. Having parents like hers have helped her achieve all of her goals.

All of the hard work this student athlete has put in has all paid off. Kaylee plans to attend Whitworth College majoring in Chemistry and playing softball. After college Kaylee has big plans to work her dream job as a pharmacist.
