The new and improved Sun Journal news is up and running. After five years of the Big Sky newspaper hiatus, we, Kade Dunning, Rudy Ochs, and Kellen Currie are the proud editors of the Big Sky Sun Journal news. The three editors cover different topics throughout the school.
Kade Dunning, a junior at Big Sky, is a participant in multiple fields for Big Sky. He is part of the track team, a football player, and one of the junior class co-presidents. Recently, he has discovered a new passion in pursuing the truth about how the changes made by the administration affects the day to day life of students. “I feel like there is so much that happens right under our noses that we never know about until it’s implemented,” Dunning said. “Students don’t get the chance to share their voice, even though the decisions of our administration alter our education and lifestyle. I hope to help everyone get that chance.”
Rudy Ochs is a sophomore at Big Sky. He enjoys making music, rock climbing, and going on hikes. “I love being outside and in the woods,” Ochs said, smiling. As an editor, Ochs is ready to report and share his stories. “With Eagle News, I’m excited to tell the stories based on questions that we the students have,” Ochs said. “I’m really looking forward to sharing my stories and to report on Big Sky.”
Kellen Currie, a sophomore at Big Sky, is a dedicated golfer for the school and competed in every varsity tournament this last season. “The news is how we stay connected as a community,” Currie said. “I’m incredibly excited to be a part of the Sun Journal team and to produce stories all about Big Sky.”
As editors, we are committed to publishing the best stories the Sun Journal can. We are proud to be the first group of editors to revive the Sun Journal newsroom. We look forward to having a strong community within our school and to telling stories that matter to students.
