Letter From the Editors

Wesley Rolle, Features & Supervising Editor

Hello to all! We, the staff of the Big Sky Sun Journal welcome you to read and enjoy as you flip through the pages of the first newspaper of the 2017 school year!

After a brief hiatus, we’re back and we’re ready to get some writing done.

With an entirely new staff this year, we knew that publishing would have to be put on hold for a while because the first thing we had to do was learn how to construct a paper.

Many of us didn’t know the first thing about journalism when we started working this past fall, and looking back on it, it’s crazy to think that that was only four and a half months ago.

We’ve learned so much and we’re so excited and proud to finally get to share with you what we’ve been working on over the course of the semester.

From the beginning, we’ve had a goal, a mission.

We aim to construct a foundation for our work by endorsing the principles of reader culture, news, and leadership. We strive to keep those ideas at the forefront of our minds while continuing on with our work, in the hope that they will aid in the creation of stories that are accurate, clear, and secure; and a proper balance of what you as students want to hear and what you need to.

We have some big plans for the future, but for right now, please enjoy the first issue of Volume 33 of the Big Sky Sun Journal Newspaper.

And be sure to follow us on Instagram @bigskysunjournal for the latest updates on all things Big Sky.

Thank you and go Eagles!
