Girls’ Basketball hopes to turn season around against Hellgate

Aubree Rush, Sports Writer

Girls’ basketball started off with a slightly rocky start. But after a close 56-40 win against Sky View last Thursday, hopes are their season will turn around.

Their first game against Hamilton High School came out 60-40, a sad loss for Big Sky’s first game. Their second against Billings Senior, 68-38, was another loss for the Eagles.

But our players are still hopeful. As varsity player Corbyn Sandau says “ I think that we’re super young and small this year, but I think that if we use our quickness and play good defense we’ll start to to do better.”

Coach Michela Anderson is very confident that these girls will keep up the good work and continue to do well. She says “I’m expecting quite a turn around from last year… they’re young, they’re quick, they’re fast, they play hard. So I’m expecting that, and I’m expecting them to get out and have some challenging games and come out on top. We have a long way to go but their on the right track.”

Hopefully they will keep up the good work and win against Hellgate tonight. Go Eagles!
